Billy Crystal says his comments on gay sex scenes were 'misunderstood'... It's the Dredge

Because not a day goes by when there isn’t some celebrity dirt to rake. Get in here.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

Billy Crystal has backtracked on comments he made recently about gay sex scenes on TV, saying he was ‘misunderstood’. The veteran actor was promoting his new TV show, The Comedians, when he said the “explicit sex” was “too much” for him.

Sometimes it’s pushed a little too far for my tastes, and I’m not going to get into which ones they are… I just hope people don’t abuse it and shove it in our face, well, that sounds terrible, to the point of it just feels like an everyday kind of thing.

TL;DR: Gay sex scenes make Billy Crystal feel kind of icky.

After considerable outrage on Twitter, Crystal has tried to explain what he meant - and says he wasn’t just talking about gay sex scenes:

What I meant was that whenever sex or graphic nudity of any kind (gay or straight) is gratuitous to the plot or story it becomes a little too much for my taste.

Well then. (Hollywood Reporter)

Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger are reportedly making steamy sex tapes. Quelle surprise!

According to a source, Miley has mentioned to friends that she and Patrick enjoy filming their bedroom antics, (presumably) critiquing their performance, then deleting the videos straight away. The source then adds this tidbit:

Plus Miley likes using candy, like lollipops.

FILTHY. Maybe. (Mirror)

Not only was January 19 a celebration of the birth of MLK, the leader of the civil rights movement in America, it was also the eighth anniversary of Justin Bieber setting up his first YouTube account, kidrauhl. Wow.

In true Belieber fashion, the fans managed to get #8YearsofKidrauhl and #BeliebersDay trending yesterday. Biebs was honoured:

And he had a small bit to say about MLK, too:
